Key Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care under the guidance of a registered nurse (RN), adhering to established hospital protocols.
- Assist in monitoring vital signs, conducting blood glucose checks, performing EKGs, and tracking intake/output.
- Aid patients with mobility, meal preparation, feeding, and personal hygiene needs.
- Respond to call bells and assist patients as necessary to ensure their comfort and safety.
- Maintain patient rooms in a clean and organized manner.
- Act as a Unit Clerk and assist with patient monitoring as required.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to identify and report any abnormal findings to the nursing staff.
- Comply with all hospital policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Strong communication abilities and basic mathematical skills.
- Capability to follow written instructions accurately.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift as required.
- Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED (required).
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years in an acute care hospital setting as a Nursing Assistant or enrollment in an accredited nursing program (preferred).
