Key Responsibilities
- Direct all federal and state tax compliance initiatives, guaranteeing prompt and accurate submissions.
- Evaluate tax calculations and filings to ensure alignment with internal workpapers and adherence to external regulations.
- Remain informed of developments in tax legislation, integrating new credits, rate adjustments, and other complex factors into financial statements.
- Supervise the management of both income and non-income tax accruals, including associated support and reconciliations.
- Ensure the accurate and timely processing of tax payments, along with the corresponding reconciliations of payables and receivables.
- Oversee SOX 404 internal controls related to tax operations and reporting.
- Lead audit responses from the IRS and other authorities, ensuring proper documentation and accounting of tax positions.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, providing necessary documentation and analytical support.
- Keep policies and procedures current in response to changing tax regulations.
- Offer guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering their professional development and nurturing a high-performance culture.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Finance and Legal, to seamlessly integrate tax strategies into overall business operations.
- Effectively communicate with senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations regarding tax strategies and risk management.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- CPA or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

- Demonstrated expertise in managing complex tax matters, including federal and state compliance, accruals, and audits.
- Strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, particularly within the Energy - Utilities sector.
