We are seeking a creative and experienced Senior Denim Designer to join our contemporary women’s fashion brand located in New York City. This role offers you the unique opportunity to influence seasonal collections and collaborate with industry leaders to bring innovative denim designs to fruition.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and define seasonal trends, washes, fabrics, and fits.
- Oversee the product development lifecycle, including the creation of presentation boards, sketches, tech packs, CAD line sheets, and managing sample orders.
- Research and select key seasonal denim fabrics while developing innovative wash treatments.
- Partner closely with sales and sourcing teams to ensure that products meet market demands.
- Stay informed about competitors and pricing strategies to create market-aligned designs.
- Liaise with overseas suppliers and sample rooms to facilitate the production of designs.
- Mentor junior designers, ensuring project timelines and deliverables are successfully achieved.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in denim design.
- Proficient in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong creativity and trend awareness, with an ability to transform fashion trends into exceptional denim designs.
- Excellent presentation and organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently.
- A Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience and expertise specifically in denim design.
