Key Responsibilities
- Provide medical consultation and oversight for adolescents in the program.
- Maintain 24⁄7 on-call availability for medical issues and admission decisions.
- Conduct physical examinations within 24 hours of patient admission.
- Perform clinic visits 2-3 times per week to manage chronic and urgent medical conditions.
- Triaging medical concerns and ensuring appropriate follow-up care.
- Collaborate with external providers for coordinated care as necessary.
- Document all medical evaluations and follow-ups in the electronic health record (EHR) within 24 hours.
- Prescribe necessary medications and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT), modifying home medications when required.
- Communicate medical updates and medication changes to staff members.
- Monitor unusual medication events and vital sign anomalies.
- Review and refine medical policies, procedures, and workflows regularly.
- Train staff on emergency medications, vital sign assessment, and MAT.
- Engage in Critical Incident Reviews (CIRs) and partner with leadership on medical matters.
- Profound knowledge of general medicine, urgent care, and evidence-based Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT).
- Experience in working with adolescents with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Option 1: MD or DO Candidates
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) with a completed residency in emergency medicine or primary care.
- Board certification in an appropriate specialty.
- 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, and/or addiction medicine.
- RN Degree (or equivalent) paired with a Master's in Nursing.
- Certification as FNP-BC, PNP-BC, or ENP-BC.
- Colorado Prescriptive Authority license and DEA certificate.
- 3-5 years of experience in primary care, emergency medicine, and/or addiction medicine.
