Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Executive Leadership Team to inform strategic planning and program initiatives.
- Formulate and execute comprehensive financial strategies aligned with organizational goals, which include overseeing budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial viability.
- Direct the financial operations encompassing accounting, billing, payroll, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
- Establish robust internal controls to protect assets and uphold financial integrity.
- Supervise the fiscal department, managing functions such as accounts payable/receivable and billing processes.
- Guarantee adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations, inclusive of financial reporting and auditing mandates.
- Present clear financial analyses and reports to the Board of Directors, ensuring strategic insights are conveyed effectively.
- Oversee grant financial activities, ensuring compliance with grant stipulations, and support grant application processes.
- Foster relationships with key external stakeholders, including funding agencies and contract authorities.
- Lead budget formulation, financial forecasting, and cash flow oversight to secure financial transparency and stability.
- Steer the organization through audits and regulatory submissions, maintaining accountability and compliance.
- Assess investment prospects, financial risks, and insurance requirements to safeguard the organization’s assets.
- Collaborate with the HR department to evaluate and implement employee benefits plans.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related area.
- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Finance, or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) designation is advantageous.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a senior financial position, such as CFO or Controller, particularly in healthcare or nonprofit sectors.
- Demonstrated experience managing financial operations within a nonprofit or FQHC environment.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial accounting principles, budgeting, and reporting specific to nonprofit frameworks.
- Proficient in financial analysis, spreadsheet software, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and leadership capabilities, with a proven track record of guiding teams and managing stakeholder relationships.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on strategic development and cost management.
