Account Manager, IT Services - Public / Government Sector (In-Office)

Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and motivated Account Manager to join our esteemed team in New York. This role is pivotal in driving the growth of IT services tailored for public and government clients. As an Account Manager, you will be instrumental in enhancing IT infrastructure services while forging robust, enduring relationships with government stakeholders at local, state, and federal levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in the New York City Metro Area, focusing on IT services for governmental entities.
  • Broaden IT offerings for existing clients while generating new business through referrals and proactive outreach.
  • Analyze client requirements and propose suitable IT solutions to meet those needs.
  • Prepare and present proposals, Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and other essential documents.
  • Represent the organization at industry trade shows, conferences, and related events.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and long-term success.
  • Conduct quarterly business reviews to highlight the value of additional IT services.

Required Skills

  • Proficient in customer development, relationship-building, and strategic communication.
  • Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, technical teams, and executive management.
  • Strong command of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Comprehensive understanding of current technologies, including network security, cloud solutions, and cybersecurity protocols.
  • Familiarity with government contracting practices and procedures.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of business development experience in the IT sector, specifically within the government domain (Public Sector, FED/SLED).
  • Previous experience with technology service providers, IT Managed Service Providers, or IT Infrastructure Services firms is highly advantageous.
  • Must be eligible to undergo a background check and/or secure a government work-related security clearance.

Compensation And Benefits

  • Base Salary: \(100,000 - \)130,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Variable Pay: Performance-based commission and bonuses.

Position Location & Travel:

This position is based in our New York office, with expectations for daily commuting and occasional travel within the greater New York metro area for client meetings and site visits. Participation in trade shows and conferences may also require travel.
