Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in the procurement department, crafting and executing strategies in alignment with organizational objectives.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of 3-5 strategic buyers and planners.
- Enhance procurement operations and elevate team performance through effective training and management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including government contracting standards such as AS9100/ISO9001, UCC, FAR, DFAR, and TINA.
- Manage departmental priorities and optimize workload for process improvement.
- Authorize significant purchase orders, ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
- Conduct performance assessments and foster career progression opportunities for team members.
- Foster robust vendor relationships to guarantee product quality, competitive pricing, and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Receiving, and Project Management teams to facilitate seamless material flow.
- Evaluate supplier performance through critical metrics such as on-time delivery and service quality.
- Participate in vendor evaluations and conduct site visits as necessary.
- Share procurement forecasts with vendors to align on critical requirements.
- Identify and develop alternative suppliers to guarantee supply continuity.
- Formulate and implement procurement strategies that support project planning and execution.
- Prepare and manage purchase requisitions to align with production demands.
- Facilitate effective communication across production, engineering, quality, suppliers, and customers.
- Maintain precise inventory records and advise project teams on purchasing decisions.
- Support proposals with cost justification and lead negotiations for pricing and contract terms.
- Oversee quarterly product price reviews and updates.
- Extensive knowledge of procurement processes, particularly in government contracts and negotiation techniques.
- Proficiency in MS Office, with a focus on Excel, alongside experience in ERP/MRP systems.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven capability to manage technical, cost, and scheduling risks.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- U.S. Citizenship is required due to U.S. Government contract regulations.
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Accounting, Finance, or Supply Chain Management.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, preferably within Department of Defense or electronics manufacturing sectors.
