Key Responsibilities
- Create an inviting and energetic atmosphere for customers, ensuring exceptional service and support.
- Successfully complete the Management Training Program to refine your leadership capabilities.
- Recruit and train a skilled Assistant Manager under the mentorship of your District Manager.
- Collaborate with your Assistant Manager to hire and develop additional store staff.
- Seek guidance from your District Manager for any personnel or operational challenges, and escalate to the Regional Vice-President or Senior Vice-President of Store Operations when necessary.
- Monitor and manage inventory shrinkage, keeping it within 2.5% of annual sales and striving to achieve a Shrink Check Test score of 80 or higher.
- Uphold company safety standards and build positive relationships with local law enforcement for enhanced security support.
- Develop weekly schedules for store personnel, adhering to the established payroll budget while addressing any personnel concerns promptly.
- Delegate responsibilities efficiently and ensure that all team members are trained and comply with company policies.
- Accurately report payroll data and maintain balanced inventory through approved company procedures.
- Ensure the store’s cleanliness and organization, including merchandising displays and stockroom areas.
- Oversee the verification of merchandise receipts and ensure pricing aligns with company guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with the District Manager concerning defective merchandise, sales trends, and issues with vendor shipments.
- Manage the store’s cash fund and sales receipts, diligently enforcing cash handling and security protocols.
- Ensure that all reports, records, and inventories are precise and completed in line with company policies.
- Inform your District Manager of any planned absences during regular work hours.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all store sales and proprietary company information.
- Secure District Manager approval for any expenditures exceeding $50.00.
- Work the assigned hours as directed by your District Manager and undertake additional duties as required.
- Implement company programs, such as incentive plans and promotions, to maximize advantages for both associates and customers.
- Demonstrate positive leadership through professionalism, effective communication, knowledge, and sound judgment to enhance store morale.
- Strong planning, coaching, and analytical abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Team-oriented attitude with a collaborative approach to tasks.
- High School Diploma or GED required; an AS/AA degree plus two years of related experience preferred.
- Minimum of three years of experience in store management.
