- Successfully complete the Management Training Program.
- Recruit, train, and mentor an Assistant Manager, collaborating closely with your supervisor.
- Assist in the hiring and onboarding of additional store personnel under the guidance of the Assistant Manager.
- Seek advice from your supervisor regarding personnel and operational challenges, and escalate issues as necessary.
- Strategically manage inventory shrinkage, aiming to maintain it within 2.5% of annual sales, mindful that excessive shrinkage may lead to disciplinary measures.
- Sustain a Shrink Check Test score of 80 or higher and demonstrate commitment to improvement if the score falls below this standard.
- Enforce safety policies and cultivate positive relationships with local law enforcement to ensure store security.
- Construct and oversee weekly schedules for all store personnel, operating within the assigned payroll budget.
- Clearly communicate company policies and ensure adherence among all team members.
- Accurately relay payroll data and maintain organized inventory records.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness throughout the store and stockroom areas.
- Manage store operating hours according to directives from senior management.
- Verify merchandise receipts in alignment with established policies and report discrepancies.
- Supervise product pricing and maintain a well-organized merchandise display.
- Keep your supervisor informed about defective merchandise, sales trends, and vendor shipment issues.
- Maintain accountability for the store cash fund and sales receipts, ensuring adherence to proper cash handling procedures.
- Complete all necessary reports, records, and inventories with accuracy and punctuality.
- Communicate any equipment or facility issues to your supervisor as they arise.
- Uphold confidentiality regarding store sales and company information.
- Seek pre-approval for any expenditures exceeding $50.00.
- Remain adaptable to work hours designated by your supervisor and perform additional responsibilities as needed.
- Implement company programs accurately and in a timely manner to benefit associates and customers, including promotions and merchandise initiatives.
- Provide positive leadership through professionalism, effective communication, and sound judgment to enhance employee morale.
- High School Diploma or GED required; an Associate’s degree plus two years of related experience is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in store management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proven abilities in planning, coaching, and analytical thinking.
