Operations Officer, Payment VP

Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and innovative Vice President of Payment Operations to oversee the comprehensive management of payment channels, including wire transfers, ACH transactions, FedNow, and emerging real-time payment systems. This strategic leadership position is pivotal in ensuring that our payment operations are secure, compliant, and customer-centric.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small team of 2-4 payment operations professionals.
• Act as the primary authority for managing Wire Transfers, ACH, FedNow, and various real-time payment channels.
• Create and execute risk management strategies to deliver secure and efficient payment services that surpass customer expectations.
• Oversee operational processes, ensuring adherence to quality control and governance standards.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintain industry best practices.
• Provide continuous management and support for payment-related services, including their configuration, implementation, and optimization.
• Direct projects associated with payment systems, such as ACH/Wire Processing, International Payments, Debit Card Processing, and Bill Pay.
• Manage relationships with third-party payment partners and guarantee seamless integration with the bank's platforms.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and proactively identify opportunities for risk mitigation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Treasury Management, Risk Management, and Compliance teams to advance payment technologies.
• Prepare and present reports to Executive Management regularly.
• Maintain vendor relationships to ensure alignment with agreements and security standards.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in payment technologies like FedNow.
• Take charge of certification and audit initiatives to achieve compliance with both internal policies and external regulations.
• Offer expert knowledge in areas including Fedline, NACHA guidelines, and real-time payments.
  
  

Required Skills

• Extensive knowledge of wire transfer operations, ACH, FedNow, and other real-time payment systems.
• Profound understanding of risk management principles and fraud prevention strategies within payment systems.
• Strong awareness of regulatory obligations, including NACHA, Fedline, Visa/Mastercard rules, and Reg E.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing small teams and complex projects.
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and the ability to make informed decisions independently.
• Strong organizational, project management, and time management abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the capability to convey complex information to technical and non-technical audiences alike.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and essential banking systems.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience; certifications such as AAP or CTP are advantageous.
