Project Manager Senior - Marine and Ship Repair

Role Summary

We are looking for a seasoned and driven Senior Project Manager to spearhead both commercial and military ship repair initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will oversee and execute contracts valued between \(1M and \)100M, ensuring exemplary outcomes from inception to completion. This opportunity is ideal for a meticulous leader who excels in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary contact for clients to manage ship repair contracts.
• Direct and mentor project management personnel to guarantee project success.
• Coordinate and oversee modifications to contracts, ensuring timely execution and fulfillment.
• Maintain open lines of communication with stakeholders, including owners, managers, engineers, subcontractors, and production teams.
• Conduct and facilitate regular meetings with both internal teams and external stakeholders, encompassing production meetings, weekly updates, and formal evaluations.
• Ensure adherence to project specifications, technical diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and NAVSEA standards.
• Exhibit a strong understanding of project management principles, including scheduling, risk management, and change management.
• Optimize resource management, encompassing labor, materials, and subcontractor support to achieve project objectives and timelines.
  
  

Required Skills

• Extensive knowledge of project management methodologies.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, or equivalent scheduling tools.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
• In-depth knowledge of federal contracts, shipboard tag-out procedures, and Navy Work Authorization (WAF) controls.
• Experience in work sequencing and planning.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the ship repair or marine sector.
• At least 5 years of experience in project management.
