Key Responsibilities
- Advocate for veterans seeking service-connected disability benefits.
- Review medical and service records to prepare cases effectively.
- Prepare clients for testimony and guide them through the hearing process.
- Conduct thorough legal research and draft hearing briefs, motions, and writs.
- Manage approximately 15 hearings before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (BVA) each month while ensuring deadlines are met.
- Collaborate closely with your case manager and the VA Supervising Attorney to achieve optimal outcomes for clients.
- Strong legal research capabilities and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with technology, including word processing and case management software.
- Ability to adapt and troubleshoot technical challenges during virtual hearings.
- Collaborative spirit to work effectively in a team environment.
- Must be currently admitted to the bar in a U.S. state or territory.
- VA accreditation is preferred, as is prior experience in Veterans Disability or Social Security law.
- A strong passion for helping veterans navigate the often complex process of obtaining their rightful benefits.
