Job Overview

Join a rapidly expanding leader in the Waste Management and Recycling sector as the Chief Information Officer (CIO). This key leadership position will empower you to shape and execute the company’s IT strategy, ensuring technology is a pivotal element in driving business expansion, operational excellence, and enhanced customer satisfaction.

In this role, you will lead and develop a talented IT team comprising 10 professionals (along with contractors), spearheading enterprise-wide IT projects and introducing cutting-edge solutions as the organization prepares for substantial growth in the coming years.

Key Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement IT strategies that align with the organization’s business objectives.
• Collaborate with executive leadership to pinpoint technology opportunities that provide competitive advantages.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and upkeep of IT infrastructure, ensuring security, scalability, and dependability.
• Establish effective data management systems, governance frameworks, and analytical tools to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Propel digital transformation initiatives aimed at optimizing operations and improving customer experiences.
• Develop and administer a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to safeguard IT assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Partner with external vendors to assess and manage IT solutions effectively.
• Cultivate and lead a high-performing IT team, promoting a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Manage IT budgeting to ensure resource optimization and financial efficiency.
• Support M&A due diligence and oversee the post-acquisition integration of IT systems, personnel, and processes.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in IT or data management, preferably within waste management, environmental services, manufacturing, or transportation sectors.
• 8 years of IT management or leadership experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in architecting enterprise applications and infrastructure, with a focus on security and business transformation.
• Experience with M&A activities, specifically regarding due diligence and post-acquisition integration.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or information systems (an MBA or master’s degree is advantageous).
