Job Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and proactive Heavy Civil Construction Manager to spearhead our Construction Operations Division, primarily concentrating on transportation initiatives, including roads, bridges, rail, and tunnels. This pivotal leadership position entails a comprehensive oversight of heavy civil construction operations from inception to completion, guaranteeing that projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams, field personnel, and clients to ensure timely project delivery within budget constraints. You will have the opportunity to mentor and guide an expanding team while maintaining an active leadership presence in the field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and Manage Construction Operations: Supervise field construction activities such as surveying, testing, and inspections, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality assurance, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Collaboration with Remote Teams: Work in tandem with remote engineering teams, offering technical support for field operations.
  • Client and Stakeholder Communication: Act as the primary liaison between field operations and clients, ensuring seamless integration of project management and field execution.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop the team, nurturing talent for future leadership roles.
  • Project Management: Engage in the preparation, evaluation, and authorization of project proposals, bids, and estimates, in collaboration with Bidding, Estimating, and Proposal Writing teams.
  • Compliance and Reporting: Guarantee compliance with local, state, and federal regulations while providing regular updates to senior management regarding project advancements, key performance indicators, and risk management.

Required Skills

  • Extensive knowledge of construction project management tools and methodologies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently while collaborating effectively with remote teams.
  • Familiarity with international construction codes and standards.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in heavy civil construction management, with a solid record of leading field operations.
