Key Responsibilities
- Conduct classroom observations to evaluate teaching effectiveness and classroom quality.
- Analyze instructional data and child progress to align with school readiness objectives.
- Identify educator strengths and areas for development, collaborating with the Education Manager to assess coaching needs.
- Create and execute personalized coaching plans with defined goals to enhance teaching effectiveness and child learning experiences.
- Deliver detailed coaching reports to classroom staff and supervisors, maintaining thorough documentation in our data management system.
- Foster strong relationships with educators through both in-person and remote coaching methods, including observation and co-teaching.
- Provide constructive feedback to promote continual improvement among teaching staff.
- Gather and interpret program data to shape coaching strategies and professional development initiatives.
- Collaborate with the Education Manager and Site Directors to facilitate training aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Assist educators with curriculum implementation and the utilization of online platforms.
- Engage in agency initiatives focused on educational development and program enhancement.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Education Manager, Site Directors, and teaching staff.
- Execute data entry tasks in systems such as COPA, IWAS, and MyTeachingStrategies as required.
- Undertake additional responsibilities to support the organization's mission and compliance with industry standards.
- Extensive knowledge of high-quality teaching strategies and instructional methodologies.
- Proficient coaching, mentoring, and adult learning facilitation skills.
- Proven ability to motivate and support educators in their professional development journeys.
- Experience in designing and delivering effective training and technical assistance.
- Strong analytical skills to collect and use data for informed decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional judgment and problem-solving skills to work effectively in challenging situations.
- Flexibility and commitment to lifelong learning.
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screenings as mandated.
- Reliable transportation with valid insurance, as occasional evening and weekend meetings may be necessary.
- Capability to lift and maneuver materials up to 40 lbs as needed.
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in early childhood education, training, or coaching, with a preference for work with infants, toddlers, and two-year-olds.
- Familiarity with Head Start Performance Standards and Illinois Early Learning Standards is advantageous.
