Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mechanical Customer Support Representative to join our dynamic team in a remote capacity. This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about delivering exceptional service and possess a strong foundation in mechanical and electrical systems. As a key member of our support team, you will assist customers in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues across diverse product lines, including generators and outdoor power equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a substantial volume of incoming and outgoing calls, delivering timely and effective resolutions to customer inquiries.
  • Provide step-by-step support to customers facing product challenges through various communication channels such as phone, email, and chat.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical issues related to portable generators, effectively guiding customers through the troubleshooting process.
  • Support customers with troubleshooting, diagnosing, programming, and assisting with parts requests based on their needs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and troubleshooting practices to ensure accurate and efficient support.
  • Document detailed information regarding product performance and issues, ensuring clarity and timeliness.
  • Contribute innovative ideas for enhancing technical support processes and improving customer satisfaction.

Required Skills

  • In-depth understanding of electrical and mechanical engine components and their functionalities.
  • Ability to interpret technical diagrams, exploded views, and service manuals.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing small mechanical engines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with various software systems and proficiency in typing and internet navigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Competence in using collaboration tools such as Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, and Slack.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of customer service experience in a high-volume call center environment.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with team members to deliver superior service.
  • Technical education or relevant experience in mechanical or electrical systems is preferred.
