This remote position focuses on managing intricate, customer-centric projects associated with Ubuntu Embedded Systems, where you will serve as the principal point of contact between our engineering teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects through their entire lifecycle, ensuring successful outcomes that align with both corporate and client expectations.
- Supervise the rollout of Ubuntu images across a diverse array of devices, encompassing robots, IoT devices, edge gateways, PCs, and automotive systems.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to facilitate custom board enablement and the delivery of Ubuntu images.
- Formulate and uphold comprehensive project plans, schedules, and statements of work.
- Negotiate client agreements regarding project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
- Proactively identify and address project risks to ensure seamless execution.
- Maintain regular communication with clients, internal stakeholders, and third-party partners, including silicon vendors, OEMs, ODMs, and IHVs.
- Monitor project progress, provide updates to management, and ensure inter-team alignment.
- Promote relevant technologies and solutions to clients.
- Manage multiple concurrent projects while upholding exceptional quality standards.
- Adapt to varying time zones and work flexible hours as necessary.
- Participate in occasional travel (up to four times a year) for team and client meetings.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management, particularly within engineering service delivery and software development team management.
- Proven ability to coordinate projects across a global spectrum, including Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
- Familiarity with Linux and the open-source software community, along with a sound understanding of computer architecture.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication capabilities in English.
- Strong leadership qualities coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- PMP, PMI, or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification is advantageous.
- A degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) is preferred, although not mandatory.
