Remote Project Manager - Embedded Ubuntu Systems

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to lead our Devices business in delivering large-scale, intricate, customer-focused projects. This remote position requires you to be the main point of contact between engineering teams and clients, ensuring project success across various platforms, including robots, IoT devices, PCs, and automotive systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage projects comprehensively to meet organizational and client objectives.
• Provide engineering professional services for designated projects.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to facilitate custom board development and deliver Ubuntu images.
• Contribute to the formulation and upkeep of project schedules and statements of work.
• Coordinate with clients to synchronize project timelines and deliverables.
• Guarantee timely project delivery within the agreed scope and resources.
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks while developing contingency plans.
• Tackle technical challenges to meet delivery expectations.
• Maintain ongoing communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Oversee schedules for critical third-party contributions.
• Keep management updated on project status and progress.
• Recognize custom engineering requests outside existing agreements.
• Advocate for suitable technologies from our product suite to clients.
• Be available for global support and flexible working hours as necessary.
• Juggle multiple projects concurrently, ensuring exceptional outcomes.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proven experience in project management within engineering services.
• Background in managing software development teams and field engineers.
• Robust knowledge of Linux and an appreciation for the open-source community.
• Familiarity with computer architecture principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Natural leadership abilities combined with problem-solving skills.
• PMP/PMI or PRINCE2 Practitioner Certification is advantageous.
