Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily therapeutic progress of assigned clients, ensuring their treatment is customized and impactful.
- Complete and manage all necessary client documentation, including assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, adhering to established deadlines.
- Conduct comprehensive initial biopsychosocial assessments as well as periodic reassessments to gauge client progress and ongoing needs.
- Perform mental status evaluations and offer appropriate treatment recommendations informed by clinical observations and client history.
- Provide individual, couple/family, and group psychotherapy sessions, adapting techniques based on client needs and feedback.
- Deliver immediate crisis intervention when necessary, including the execution of 5150 determinations.
- Exhibit cultural sensitivity to honor the diverse backgrounds and life experiences of clients and colleagues, helping to cultivate an inclusive and supportive atmosphere.
- Collaboratively develop and update individualized treatment plans with clients, ensuring that objectives are clear, measurable, and centered on the client.
- Stay informed of current legal practices relevant to professional conduct, including reporting obligations and ethical standards.
- Maintain a solid grasp of the 12-step recovery model (e.g., AA, CA, NA, Al-Anon) for appropriate integration into therapy.
- Ensure all client notes are documented within 24 hours after each session, including records of missed sessions or non-compliance.
- Initiate contact with client referents within 48 hours of assignment and maintain weekly communication to provide updates and ensure ongoing client support.
- Strong understanding of therapeutic techniques and practices.
- Proficient in conducting biopsychosocial assessments.
- Excellent documentation and reporting capabilities.
- Crisis intervention expertise.
- Familiarity with the 12-step recovery model.
- Compassionate and empathetic communication style.
- Competence in administrative tasks requiring computer skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Master's or Doctorate degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related social science field.
- Valid license as an LMFT, LCSW, LCDC, or LPC, or licensure by the Board of Psychology as a Licensed Psychologist or Psychological Assistant.
- Minimum of two years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of individuals with mental health or substance abuse issues; supervisory experience is desirable.
- Successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Proficiency in computer skills necessary for performing administrative tasks.
