Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with various departments to acquire and reconcile fixed asset inventories using JD Edwards accounting software.
- Efficiently process asset transfers, deletions, and disposal entries.
- Maintain precise records concerning construction in progress, leases, financed purchases, and subscription-based IT arrangements, in accordance with GASB standards.
- Calculate depreciation and prepare interim and annual financial statements pertaining to fixed assets.
- Review and enhance fixed asset accounting policies and procedures as necessary.
- Establish and nurture relationships with departmental financial staff while providing needed accounting support.
- Keep abreast of new accounting standards and their implications for financial reporting.
- Undertake special research projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
- Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word (knowledge of SumIf, SumProduct, and VLOOKUP formulas is advantageous).
- Prior experience with JD Edwards accounting software is preferred.
- Capacity to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and solve problems proficiently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with Microsoft Access and Publisher is beneficial.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum of 12 credit hours in accounting coursework.
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, especially in relation to fixed assets.
