Key Responsibilities
- Manage and uphold business licenses, permits, and sales tax registrations across various jurisdictions.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax and licensing laws.
- Prepare and submit applications for new business licenses, as well as renewals and tax permits.
- Monitor tax nexus implications, managing essential registrations as the company expands.
- Keep abreast of regulatory changes in tax and licensing, advising management on compliance necessities.
- Maintain precise records of licenses, tax permits, and exemption certificates.
- Collaborate with finance, legal, and operations teams to guarantee proper licensing and compliance.
- Act as the primary liaison for audits, compliance assessments, and regulatory inquiries.
- Support sales tax compliance efforts, including reporting and management of exemption certificates.
- Assist in internal audits to confirm adherence to tax and licensing regulations.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of assigned tasks.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in handling multiple data sources and adapting to technological changes.
- Capacity to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a minimum of 3 years of experience in business tax compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and tax compliance regulations.
- Experience with multi-entity and intercompany transactions is preferred.
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct, CSC, or CT portals is advantageous.
