Key Responsibilities
- Manage and ensure precise valuation of inventory and effective cost flow methods.
- Reconcile physical inventory counts with recorded data, resolving any discrepancies.
- Monitor stock movements, turnover rates, and maintain optimal inventory levels.
- Analyze Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), inventory write-offs, and cost variances.
- Track work-in-progress (WIP) inventory to align with production requirements.
- Oversee purchase orders to align with inventory and production necessities.
- Monitor material, freight, and associated costs to uphold budget accuracy.
- Assist in assessing suppliers, pricing agreements, and adherence to contracts.
- Collaborate with internal teams for accurate material forecasting and budgeting.
- Compile cost reports pertinent to inventory, purchasing, and manufacturing expenditures.
- Investigate and report on cost variances in materials, labor, and overhead.
- Contribute to the monthly, quarterly, and annual preparation of financial statements.
- Provide necessary documentation for audits related to inventory and purchasing.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing processes in cost reporting and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, and internal financial policies.
- Collaborate effectively with production, purchasing, and supply chain teams to align cost data with business objectives.
- Deliver financial insights to support pricing strategies, budgeting, and procurement decisions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA certification preferred).
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, inventory management, or procurement within a manufacturing context.
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to interpret financial data and identify trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities to facilitate cross-departmental collaboration.
