We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to assume the role of Vice President of Credit Risk Assessment. This pivotal position will be responsible for refining and advancing our credit risk evaluation processes, ensuring data-informed decision-making, and fostering a robust risk management framework. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide visionary leadership in the design and execution of sophisticated analytical methodologies to enhance risk assessment and decision-making processes.
  • Supervise the development and upkeep of quantitative models aimed at predicting risk, portfolio dynamics, member behavior, and essential business metrics.
  • Direct the modeling initiatives for the Allowance for Credit Losses, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate across departments to facilitate capital planning, stress testing, and alignment of risk tolerance.
  • Maintain a robust internal control framework by overseeing critical projects and risk management efforts.
  • Establish and refine forecasting techniques and modeling methodologies to anticipate business trends and support strategic decision-making.
  • Serve as a primary liaison with external stakeholders, including vendors, auditors, and regulatory bodies, to optimize performance and uphold compliance.
  • Champion ongoing process enhancements to improve operational efficiency, mitigate financial risk, and deliver superior member experiences.
  • Provide high-level strategic insights and recommendations to senior management regarding financial trends, market forces, and organizational strengths.
  • Mentor and lead a team, cultivating a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous professional development.

Required Skills

  • Extensive background in credit risk assessment, statistical modeling, and forecasting within the financial sector.
  • Profound understanding of federal and state regulations related to consumer lending and risk management.
  • Expertise in credit risk modeling, operational risk analysis, and regulatory risk evaluation.
  • Strong foundation in data analytics, business intelligence, and process simulation techniques.
  • Experience in asset/liability management, financial accounting, and budgeting principles.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities capable of managing cross-functional teams and spearheading large-scale initiatives.
  • Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the capacity to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple tasks effectively.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in credit risk evaluation and statistical forecasting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of regulations governing consumer lending and risk management practices.

  • Proven leadership and team management capabilities.
  • Doctorate in Finance, Statistics, or a related discipline is preferred.
