Key Responsibilities

• Direct, mentor, and empower a team of underwriters, promoting professional development and cultivating a culture of high performance.
• Supervise the assessment of new and renewal business to ensure compliance with underwriting standards and profitability benchmarks.
• Offer technical assistance and insights for complex or high-value accounts.
• Evaluate and monitor team performance metrics, executing strategies to achieve or surpass departmental targets.
• Collaborate with marketing, claims, and risk management personnel to develop tailored solutions for clients.
• Establish and maintain constructive relationships with agency partners.
• Examine market trends and refine underwriting strategies to maintain competitiveness.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory obligations and internal policies.
• Participate in the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of team members.
• Travel as required (up to 40%).

• Strong expertise in the commercial trucking insurance field, particularly in risk assessment and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
