Key Responsibilities
- Execute monthly financial closing processes, including inventory valuation, managing Excess & Obsolete reserves, standard cost variance analysis, operations productivity assessments, account reconciliations, and additional reporting.
- Generate essential reports and summaries for financial documentation.
- Record standard adjusting journal entries associated with operational cost accounting.
- Analyze PPV reports, investigate purchases, and guarantee precise PPV reporting.
- Determine labor and overhead rates.
- Assist with external audits and the preparation of tax documentation.
- Conduct WIP audits and contribute to cost analysis for the annual budgeting process.
- Develop accurate cost estimates for new and existing products upon request.
- Collaborate with operational management to strengthen controls, enhance accuracy, and improve the quality of manufacturing costs, addressing any notable variances.
- Oversee fixed asset acquisitions, disposals, transfers, and other asset modifications in the accounting system, ensuring timely and accurate tracking.
- Partner with finance personnel to uphold general ledger accuracy and integrity.
- Scrutinize accounting records to evaluate accuracy, completeness, and compliance with standards.
- Support month-end closing activities, encompassing journal entries, variance and inventory analysis, and financial statement preparation.
- Work in conjunction with various functional departments to cultivate and sustain the product costing system.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 3 years in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing or healthcare/medical device environment.
- Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP).
- Proficient in advanced Excel for data analysis and reporting purposes.
- Strong grasp of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Capability to analyze intricate data, derive significant insights, and effectively communicate findings to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence decisions and promote change management.
