The position is available in either Jacksonville or Largo, FL, and offers a hybrid work arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the daily operational and payroll functions of the Finance Department across multiple regions, encompassing grants management and cost allocation coding.
- Supervise treasury operations and cultivate robust financial relationships with banks, auditors, and governmental agencies.
- Oversee the preparation and monitoring of budgets, financial statements, and reports.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state financial regulations, including Department of Children and Families (DCF) contract stipulations.
- Manage payroll, tax reporting, and associated responsibilities.
- Maintain and refine financial controls, policies, and procedures.
- Upgrade financial systems and adopt technological solutions to streamline accounting, payroll, and treasury processes.
- Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to the finance operations and payroll team.
- Assist with audits, financial assessments, and other regulatory evaluations.
- Support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in financial reporting and strategic initiatives.
- Act as a backup to the Programs Controller as necessary.
- Strong leadership and financial management capabilities.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial systems.
- Experience with government contracts and compliance regulations is advantageous.
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or equivalent professional accounting credential.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master’s degree preferred).
- A minimum of seven years of professional accounting experience, including at least five years in a managerial capacity (e.g., Controller, Comptroller, Assistant Controller, or Finance Director).
- Successful completion of Level II background screening is required.
- Valid driver's license and compliance with motor vehicle insurance prerequisites if driving for work.
- Authorization to work in the United States (E-Verify verification mandated).
