We are seeking a meticulous and mission-oriented Bookkeeper/Business Manager to join our dedicated team. This part-time position is ideal for a financial management professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to support both financial operations and administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities

In the role of Bookkeeper/Business Manager, you will facilitate effective financial operations while ensuring adherence to accounting best practices. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  • Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, and processing payroll.
  • Generating monthly financial reports for organizational leadership and the board of directors.
  • Assisting in budgeting and financial forecasting to deliver insightful analyses.
  • Ensuring compliance with payroll regulations and laws governing employment.
  • Preparing for audits and managing necessary documentation.
  • Formulating and enforcing financial policies and procedures to streamline operations.
  • Managing invoicing and grant billing to guarantee timely submissions and adherence to funding conditions.
  • Collaborating with external accountants for tax filings and necessary reporting.
  • Supervising day-to-day administrative operations to bolster organizational functions.

Required Skills

Candidates should possess the following skills to excel in this role:

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and various accounting tools, with a capacity to adapt to new financial technologies.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial documentation and reporting.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to evaluate financial data, recognize trends, and offer actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills to efficiently manage multiple tasks in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred; however, relevant work experience and certifications (e.g., CPA, QuickBooks certification) will also be considered.
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably within a nonprofit environment. Familiarity with federal and state grant reporting is advantageous.

Compensation And Benefits
