Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily financial operations, including oversight of accounting and accounts payable.
- Ensure timely financial reporting by managing general ledger activities.
- Record incoming revenue and monitor receivables to maintain awareness of outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with the Senior Director of Finance to develop the annual budget.
- Conduct timely and accurate monthly closes.
- Ensure comprehensive integration of financial systems across all platforms.
- Cultivate a customer-focused, collaborative culture across all departments.
- Manage accounts payable processes through Bill.com, ensuring prompt invoice routing, coding, and payment.
- Execute credit card transactions and support other accounting functions through Ramp.
- Reconcile monthly bank accounts.
- Provide training on financial systems and facilitate onboarding for new finance staff.
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations during monthly close processes.
- Support grant reporting as necessary.
- Aid in preparing for audits and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Assist in the preparation of IRS Form 990 and 1099 forms.
- Maintain organized filing systems and historical records.
- Proficient understanding of fund accounting and GAAP principles applicable to non-profits.
- Experience managing multi-source budgets and understanding of restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Skilled in tracking funding streams and ensuring compliance with grant regulations.
- Solid grasp of IRS regulations for non-profits.
- Experience in financial reporting, including preparation of IRS Form 990 and donor-related reports.
- Familiarity with internal controls and audit compliance.
- Expertise in budgeting, resource allocation, and cost control.
- Ability to analyze financial data, interpret financial information, and resolve complex issues.
- Strong commitment to ethical financial management practices.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced working environment.
- Proficient in Excel, accounting software, ERP systems, and data analytics tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
- A minimum of four years of relevant experience in finance or accounting roles, such as accountant or financial analyst.
