Key Responsibilities

• Monitor inquiries related to premium invoicing and respond effectively.
• Analyze over- and under-payments, presenting findings for leadership review.
• Investigate premium discrepancies, providing actionable solutions.
• Develop SQL queries to accurately reconcile various revenue streams.
• Resolve payment disputes and ensure efficient financial transaction processing.
• Collaborate with print vendors to update premium billing notifications and member communications.
• Coordinate with business process outsourcing (BPO) vendors regarding system modifications.
• Review and manage refund requests and overpayment processing.
• Verify broker commission payments for accuracy.
• Prepare month-end financial reports and journal entries.
• Interpret regulatory requirements associated with premium billing and revenue reconciliation.
• Build and maintain strong internal relationships as a trusted resource.
• Commit to process improvement through the application of LEAN principles.
• Assist with additional duties to support effective health plan operations.
  
  

Required Skills

• Proficient in SQL query development, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
• Strong understanding of premium billing practices in the healthcare sector.
• Knowledgeable in generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking capabilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with meticulous attention to detail.
  
  

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in premium billing, reconciliation, or financial reporting.
• Managed care experience related to commercial products is essential.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Health Care Administration, Accounting, or a related field from an accredited institution.
