Key Responsibilities
- Ensure precise accounting practices for non-patient revenue, employee benefits, and non-salary expenses, which includes the compilation and submission of monthly journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and invoicing for non-patient receivables.
- Prepare and scrutinize monthly financial statements to guarantee accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in the budgeting process for special events, contributions, and other revenue streams, while also reviewing departmental non-salary expenditures.
- Examine accounts payable transactions prior to month-end and verify appropriate expense accruals during the closing process.
- Oversee positive pay uploads for check runs and provide necessary support for banking operations utilizing suitable financial systems and tools.
- Prepare and record entries related to leases and utilities, maintain quarterly future minimum rent expense schedules, and collaborate with property management for the required documentation.
- Maintain precise financial documentation by recording transactions and protecting account information.
- Remain informed about federal, state, and local financial regulations, ensuring compliance and advising management on necessary actions.
- Conduct research and interpret accounting policies and regulations to address inquiries concerning financial procedures.
- Offer support and direction to accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and responding to inquiries.
- Extensive experience in the Healthcare, Hospitals, or Social Assistance industries is preferred.
- Proficient in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation and analysis.
- Advanced capabilities in Microsoft Excel for financial data analysis.
- Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and Workday software is advantageous.
- Solid understanding of sales tax regulations and procedures, including experience in preparing sales tax returns.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required.
