Key Responsibilities
- Lead and finalize monthly accounting close processes, ensuring precision and compliance with regulations.
- Manage and document journal entries, focusing on payroll, fixed assets, prepaids, accruals, bond interest, and intercompany transactions.
- Monitor and reconcile metal inventory, including work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods.
- Calculate and report on monthly settlements, site revenues, and cost of sales.
- Reconcile accounts receivable and oversee bank transaction management.
- Administer accounts payable, vendor account aging, and subledger reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, including variance analyses.
- Support quarterly forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow projections.
- Oversee FICO module administration within the ERP system (preferably SAP).
- Maintain compliance with financial controls related to reporting, cash management, inventories, and fixed assets.
- Assist with special projects and offer general finance and administrative support as required.
- Proven experience in accounting with a minimum of 3 years, ideally within mining, construction, or heavy manufacturing sectors.
- Educational background: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related area.
- Familiarity with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP preferred; experience with Ellipse, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or Hyperion is also applicable).
- Strong skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and MS Teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Capacity to analyze variances and interpret intricate financial data.
- Knowledge of state sales tax, use tax, and property tax regulations.
