Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, including Accounting Supervisors and Specialists, to drive client success.
- Ensure the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting per standards such as DCAA, FAR, CAS, and GAAP.
- Develop and implement tailored accounting policies and procedures that meet diverse client needs.
- Manage month-end closing processes and deliver comprehensive financial reports.
- Analyze operational and financial data, offering actionable insights to elevate client performance.
- Cultivate strong relationships with clients to fully understand their unique business requirements.
- Collaborate with client leadership to formulate strategies based on financial data and projections.
- Support clients through various tax-related matters and coordinate audit processes as necessary.
- 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience, with a minimum of 5 years in public accounting and 5 years in the private sector.
- Strong leadership capabilities, particularly in managing remote teams.
- In-depth knowledge of government contracting and compliance standards, including FAR, CAS, and DCAA.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to overcoming accounting challenges.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, ICAT, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective collaboration across all organizational levels.
- A CPA license is strongly preferred.
- Significant experience in client-facing outsourced accounting roles, with a focus on government contracting principles, including full accrual accounting.
- Prior experience in supervising teams of accounting professionals.
