Remote Tax Supervisor Position

Job Title: Tax Supervisor (Remote Position - Pacific Time Zone)

Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Supervisor to join our team in a remote capacity. This pivotal role involves ensuring the timely and accurate completion of tasks assigned by the firm's partner. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational, communication, and time management abilities, particularly under the pressure of approaching tax deadlines. Familiarity with Lacerte, our main tax preparation software, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise staff schedules related to balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
• Mentor team members while analyzing partner/shareholder types.
• Review workpapers and journal entries before and after tax preparation.
• Facilitate communication within the team regarding any entity changes.
• Collaborate to ensure timely administration processes and preparation of workpapers.
• Plan and manage training for staff, including offshore teams, to ensure consistent tax preparation.
• Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in conjunction with stakeholders.
• Create detailed project timelines and allocate resources effectively.
• Manage onboarding processes for new clients and resolve any concerns promptly.
• Review federal and multi-state income tax returns for various entities, ensuring accuracy in Lacerte prior to submission.
• Oversee the tax return calendar, coordinating activities with the tax team.
• Monitor the timeliness of tax filings and address any exceptions or special circumstances.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in project management or a related field.
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects is essential.
