We are seeking a meticulous and driven Senior Fund Accountant to become a valuable member of our Real Estate Fund Administration team based in Chicago, IL. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and provide mentorship to a team of Associate and Fund Accountants.
- Cultivate leadership abilities by actively engaging in projects and offering strategic insights.
- Establish effective communication with property managers and clients.
- Prepare and critically assess monthly, quarterly, and annual reports encompassing financial data, performance returns, and variance analyses.
- Calculate and validate various performance metrics, benchmarking them accordingly.
- Review property budgets and assist in formulating the fund's annual budget and strategic business plan.
- Evaluate and decide on suitable cash distributions in alignment with property goals and fund strategies.
- Analyze and interpret financial documents to ensure precision and adherence to reporting standards.
- Uphold compliance with investment management and joint venture agreements.
- Address auditor inquiries and facilitate audit processes.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience in real estate accounting and financial analysis.
- Experience with a Big 4 accounting firm is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in Excel and financial modeling techniques.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, adept at thriving in a fast-paced work environment.
- Prior supervisory experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Yardi software is a plus.
- CPA designation is preferred but not essential.
