Key Responsibilities
- Deliver in-person care for patients with cardiac implanted electronic devices (CIEDs), including device programming, interrogation, and evaluation.
- Identify and address any CIED abnormalities, coordinating necessary follow-up care when required.
- Provide comprehensive education to patients and their families regarding post-implant care, device function, and remote monitoring procedures.
- Collaborate effectively with the healthcare team to ensure streamlined, timely care for patients with CIEDs.
- Serve as a knowledge resource for staff regarding device and arrhythmia management.
- Maintain precise documentation for patient assessments and billing, ensuring compliance with CPT coding standards.
- Analyze and process remote transmissions and trans-telephonic monitoring alerts, while staying informed on manufacturer advisories and guidelines.
- Participate in cross-coverage for satellite facilities and engage in continuing education opportunities.
- Strong knowledge of implanted cardiac devices (CIEDs).
- Excellent communication and patient education capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Proficient in clinical documentation and billing procedures.
- Experience with remote monitoring technologies and device management.
Required:
- Associate's degree in Nursing.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in New Mexico.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
- 1-2 years of experience in critical care, interventional cardiology/electrophysiology lab, or cardiac step-down units; 2 years preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- Background in CIED management or completion of a professional CIED program (e.g., ATI or PrepMD).
- International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) certification.
- LS Certification at the time of hire.
