Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive mental health care to individuals in remote settings, utilizing a bio-psychosocial approach.
- Conduct brief interventions to offer immediate support and strategies for acute issues.
- Implement crisis intervention techniques for mental health emergencies, ensuring timely and effective responses.
- Develop and execute long-term treatment plans aimed at fostering ongoing well-being.
- Engage with the community through cultural and healthcare events, educational presentations, and learning circles.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals in intimate clinic environments.
- Travel regularly by small aircraft to various remote villages, providing a unique and rewarding clinical experience.
- Strong understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures, particularly Alaska Native and American Indian populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
- Experience in traveling to rural locations is highly valued.
- A Master's degree in a behavioral health discipline (Counseling, Psychology, or Social Work) or a PhD/PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
- Commitment to obtaining Alaska Clinical Licensure within four (4) years of employment.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
