Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate individual and group activities, including exercise, music, reminiscence, and crafts.
• Develop GEM boxes for active engagement based on best practices in dementia care.
• Motivate residents to partake in household tasks such as setting tables, folding laundry, and sorting silverware.
• Assist in planning special events, including musical programs, outings, and family gatherings.
• Support Resident Service Assistants in implementing GEM concepts effectively.
• Prepare materials for various activities, including crafts, games, puzzles, and manicures.
• Uphold resident rights and confidentiality at all times.
• Monitor and report any changes in residents’ physical, emotional, or cognitive conditions to supervisors.
  
  

Required Skills

• A positive and respectful attitude towards individuals with dementia.
• Emotional maturity to manage the demands of the role.
• Prior experience or relevant coursework in gerontology or working with seniors, especially those with Alzheimer's or dementia.
• Creative thinking and the capacity to engage residents in meaningful interactions.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and following instructions effectively.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and undergo random drug testing as required by state regulations.

Compensation And Benefits

• Hourly Pay: \(14-\)16.
• Full-Time Position with hours from 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM.
