Key Responsibilities
- Assess and manage a diverse array of commercial insurance applications, making informed decisions to accept or decline risks in alignment with established guidelines.
- Cultivate expertise in our commercial products, pricing strategies, and coverage specifics; confidently apply your understanding of underwriting guidelines and authority levels.
- Foster and maintain robust relationships within our agency network through effective communication and negotiation, including regular on-site visits to designated agencies.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, assisting in the development of new hires, trainees, and technicians.
- Leverage technology and innovation to enhance operational efficiency and pursue continuous professional development that aligns with our organizational objectives.
- Bachelor’s Degree, formal insurance education, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5-8 years of proven success in commercial lines underwriting, demonstrating a consistent track record in fostering growth and building agency relationships.
- Relevant designations such as Associate in Underwriting (AU) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU).
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with a talent for delivering compelling presentations.
- Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the capacity to operate independently.
- Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory, including some overnight trips.
- Valid driver’s license and compliance with company fleet safety protocols.
- A history of contributing to organizational growth and developing agency partnerships.
