Key Responsibilities
- Implement and manage various in-person programs, typically occurring one weekend morning or afternoon each month.
- Assess and select suitable program venues that cater to the community’s needs.
- Oversee the procurement and logistics of program supplies, ensuring all materials are readily available.
- Facilitate on-site registration for attendees, ensuring a smooth process.
- Engage with participants to nurture meaningful connections and encourage interaction among families.
- Conduct post-event debriefings with the LGBTQ Family Connector and supervisor to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with a knack for building community relationships.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Familiarity with the Boston queer community, especially concerning queer parents and gender-questioning children.
- Exceptional active listening abilities and interpersonal skills.
- Solid time management and organizational capabilities.
- A proactive, adaptable mindset, able to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to handle situations with diplomacy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Bachelor's degree in Community Organization or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in event planning or working with families.
- Experience within the queer community is essential, along with knowledge of the Jewish community.
