Key Responsibilities
- Execute and facilitate all elements of in-person programming, typically one weekend morning or afternoon each month.
- Assess and select appropriate venues to ensure they cater to the community’s needs.
- Oversee the management of program supplies, including procurement and transportation.
- Conduct on-site registration for participants while fostering connections among them.
- Engage with program participants to build meaningful relationships and support networking opportunities.
- Conduct post-event debriefs with the LGBTQ Family Connector and supervisor to evaluate program success and identify areas for enhancement.
- Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Strong familiarity with the Boston queer community, particularly concerning queer parents and gender-questioning children.
- Outstanding active listening and communication abilities.
- Proven organizational and time management skills.
- A proactive approach with adaptability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Capability to navigate situations with tact and meticulous attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Community Organization or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning or engagement with families.
- Ability to lift 15-40 pounds for transporting supplies.
- Capacity to sit, kneel, and move as necessary during events.
- Availability of transportation for logistics related to programming.
