We are looking for a highly skilled Regional Controller to join our dynamic team, working remotely or in a hybrid capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing a diverse portfolio of select service and full-service hotels across the United States, engaging with both centralized and decentralized operational frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategically plan, direct, and manage the delivery of precise, timely, and impartial financial data to inform executive decision-making.
- Propose and implement corrective measures as needed to enhance financial performance.
- Develop and uphold comprehensive internal control systems to protect organizational assets.
- Assist in formulating annual budgets and monthly financial forecasts.
- Establish or recommend significant economic objectives and policies for hotel operations.
- Provide support to Select Service General Managers and decentralized Controllers in reaching financial targets by preparing detailed monthly and annual reports.
- Summarize and project hotel revenues, expenditures, and profits based on historical, current, and anticipated business operations.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and relevant regulations.
- Manage cash forecast and banking functions for the hotels.
- Foster constructive relationships with the Ownership accounting team to guarantee accurate and timely financial reporting.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Controller, Area Controller, or Regional Controller.
- Preferable background in the hotel industry.
- Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and the preparation of financial statements.
- Proficient in daily, monthly, and yearly cash management.
- Capability to maintain a pristine balance sheet.
- Experience in acquisitions, including the establishment of banking relationships, credit card management, and collaboration with payroll service providers and local tax authorities.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient leadership qualities to manage a small team of accounting professionals.
- Solid experience with Microsoft Office and advanced Excel skills.
- Familiarity with ProfitSword and M3 is advantageous.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% - 25% as required.
