Job Overview

We are in search of a proactive and results-driven Sales and Business Development professional to spearhead our growth initiatives and enhance our market presence. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in securing new projects, expanding our customer base, and driving revenue growth. You will also have the opportunity to develop innovative business strategies and execute marketing activities designed to meet our financial objectives. This role entails the formulation of targeted strategies for various sectors, diligent client research and contact development, prioritization of promising opportunities, and maintaining robust client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive growth strategy that focuses on financial achievement and exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively promote our offerings by understanding and addressing client needs and objectives effectively.
  • Conduct thorough market analysis to discern potential opportunities, trends, and customer demands within the construction sector.
  • Generate and qualify leads through various channels, including cold outreach, networking, industry events, and digital marketing.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients and key stakeholders to ensure ongoing satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Coordinate the creation of compelling proposals and bids in response to client needs and requests for proposals (RFPs).
  • Lead the sales cycle, expertly negotiate contracts, and finalize agreements with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • Formulate and execute strategic plans aimed at business growth, identifying new markets, service offerings, and partnership opportunities.
  • Monitor competitive activities, pricing tactics, and market positioning to sustain a competitive edge.
  • Oversee the budget for business development projects, including marketing and promotional campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as project managers and engineers, to ensure successful project execution and delivery.
  • Provide consistent updates and analyses regarding business development efforts and results to leadership.
  • Elevate our market visibility and enhance brand recognition within targeted sectors.
  • Travel occasionally as required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, construction management, or a relevant discipline; an MBA or advanced degree is advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, preferably within the residential construction domain.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction industry, including methods, materials, regulations, and trends.
  • Proficient in sales strategies, marketing techniques, and lead generation practices.
  • Proven success in developing and expanding a client base.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly in crafting persuasive proposals and presentations.
  • Skilled in contract negotiation to achieve mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Strong relationship management abilities to effectively engage clients, partners, and industry contacts.
  • Strategic thinker, capable of identifying growth opportunities and translating them into actionable plans.
  • Analytical proficiency to leverage data-driven insights for decision-making.
  • Collaborative approach with a history of successful teamwork across various internal departments.
  • Problem-solving aptitude to address challenges in the business development process.
  • Familiarity with business development and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Self-motivated, results-focused, and capable of working independently while achieving or surpassing established targets.
