- Provide expert regulatory guidance to ensure compliance across packaging, advertising, and digital platforms.
- Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with internal teams and external stakeholders to navigate evolving nutritional and labeling regulations.
- Develop a comprehensive claims framework guided by clinical research, ensuring alignment with regulatory standards to promote brand advancement.
- Collaborate with key departments such as Quality Assurance, Development, Legal, Marketing, and Purchasing to identify and manage compliance risks.
- Generate and disseminate internal regulatory policy documents that align with best practices.
- Evaluate the implications of product reformulations on labeling and packaging strategies.
- Oversee the formulation and upkeep of product nutrition facts panels, ingredient disclosures, and allergen statements for regulatory compliance.
- Analyze label verification audit findings to mitigate risks and implement corrective actions.
- Proactively leverage regulatory insights throughout the product lifecycle to identify compliant solutions.
- Manage all regulatory submissions, including FDA notices pertaining to structure/function claims and dietary supplement labeling.
- In-depth understanding of relevant regulatory frameworks and the ability to articulate regulatory matters effectively.
- Results-focused with the capacity to handle multiple priorities and meet stringent deadlines.
- Proven risk assessment and problem-solving capabilities with a strategic approach to compliance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong leadership and influencing skills to facilitate collaboration across various organizational levels.
- Proficient knowledge of current laws and regulations impacting product safety, labeling, and advertising.
- Bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition, or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in regulatory affairs and nutrition within the food and beverage sector.
- Comprehensive understanding of FDA, FTC, NAD, and USDA regulations.
- Experience in developing and implementing effective regulatory processes.
- Familiarity with nutrition science and new product development is a plus.
