Key Responsibilities
- Lead and engage in daily programming activities at the senior center.
- Supervise and coordinate the efforts of participants and community volunteers.
- Oversee the lunch program to ensure a fulfilling experience for all participants.
- Document activities through photographs for marketing and social media purposes.
- Promote participant engagement and cooperation in activities.
- Efficiently utilize planning and administrative time in afternoon hours.
- Maintain precise records and ensure timely completion of reports (e.g., AAA reports).
- Identify the needs of participants facing challenges and address them appropriately, involving directors or relevant authorities when needed.
- Educate participants about fundraising initiatives and encourage their active involvement in planning successful events to support the senior center’s budget.
- Assist in assessing program outcomes to promote ongoing improvement.
- Attend team meetings, staff meetings, and training sessions.
- Coordinate transportation for participants as necessary.
- Stay updated on current county and state Senior Center Program Directive (APD) requirements.
- Communicate effectively with participants, colleagues, and the public to foster a welcoming atmosphere.
- Ensure a safe environment for all activities conducted at the senior center.
- Perform light cleaning tasks as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook.
- Willingness to learn and utilize Co-pilot, the online data tracking system.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to encourage cooperation and engagement among participants.
- Preferred experience in working with older adults.
- Current or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED Certification.
- Current or willingness to obtain ServSafe Certification.
- All candidates will undergo background checks and clearances.
