Job Overview

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Director of Content & Communications to lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of content, social media, PR, and influencer marketing efforts for our portfolio of premium beauty and hair care brands. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing team, collaborate with creative professionals, and drive brand awareness and engagement across multiple platforms. You will work closely with the VP of Marketing to align brand initiatives with the company's overall objectives and ensure seamless execution across both internal teams and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Content & Social Media Strategy: Lead the development and execution of content and social media strategies aligned with product launches, brand initiatives, and overall marketing goals. Ensure consistent messaging across all channels to enhance brand awareness and engagement.

Content Creation & Optimization: Create streamlined processes for content planning and repurpose content across different platforms (social media, email, website, etc.), ensuring maximum impact and efficiency. Follow the "create once, reuse everywhere" methodology for effective content distribution.

Calendar Management & Coordination: Oversee content calendars to ensure alignment with marketing and product launch timelines, events, activations, and other important initiatives.

Brand Direction & Messaging: Define and guide the brand voice, tone, and messaging across all platforms, ensuring content is consistent, relevant, and on-brand.

Content Team Leadership: Provide guidance and leadership to content contributors to ensure timely and on-message content delivery. Utilize data, SEO insights, and consumer trends to refine content direction.

PR & Media Relations: Develop and execute PR strategies that enhance brand visibility, foster media relationships, and ensure brand exposure in both consumer and professional outlets. Oversee external PR agency performance and ensure alignment with brand goals.

Influencer Marketing: Develop and implement influencer marketing strategies that drive awareness, build brand loyalty, and increase demand. Manage relationships with influencers, stylists, and key opinion leaders. Oversee influencer campaigns to ensure alignment with brand objectives.

Budget & Resource Management: Manage the budget for content, PR, and influencer initiatives. Negotiate contracts, allocate resources, and ensure financial efficiency in all projects.

Team Development & Mentorship: Lead and inspire a high-performing team of content and communications professionals. Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence while supporting team members' professional growth.

Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular KPI reports on the performance of content, PR, and influencer campaigns. Use data to inform future strategies and drive continuous improvement.

Additional Tasks: Manage any other assignments, projects, or duties as required by management.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Experience: 8 years in communications, public relations, social media marketing, or a related field, preferably in the beauty or hair care industry.

Leadership: At least 5 years of experience in a management role, with a proven ability to lead and mentor a creative team.

Campaign Expertise: Proven success in running impactful social media, influencer, and PR campaigns that build brand awareness and drive engagement.

Creativity & Strategy: Highly creative with the ability to conceptualize innovative ideas that resonate with target audiences.

Communication Skills: Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders and drive results.

Tech Savvy: Familiarity with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in content development, influencer marketing, and digital communications.

Analytical Mindset: Experience using platforms such as Tribe Dynamics, Creator IQ, Launchmetrics, Dash Hudson, or similar tools to optimize campaigns and measure ROI.

Budget Management: Ability to manage budgets effectively, ensuring cost-efficient and impactful results for all campaigns.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

Hybrid work environment with a combination of in-office and remote work.

Ability to sit for extended periods and work on a computer.

Occasional lifting of up to 15 pounds and walking between departments in the office.

Occasional travel (up to 10%) for industry events, tradeshows, and collaborations with marketing teams across different locations.
