Key Responsibilities
- Manage the installation, configuration, and ongoing optimization of sophisticated warehouse automation systems, including pick-to-light systems, high-speed conveyors, and Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (ASRS).
- Monitor system performance, address automation-related challenges, and ensure minimal operational downtime.
- Collaborate with warehouse operations teams to ensure automation systems are aligned with overall business objectives.
- Integrate automation solutions with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, providing troubleshooting and technical support as necessary.
- Conduct performance analysis of automation systems to identify and implement improvements, driving efficiency and cost reduction.
- Maintain meticulous documentation of system configurations, operational procedures, and performance reports for management evaluation.
- Engage with cross-functional teams, including logistics and engineering, to facilitate seamless IT systems integration.
- Advise on automation capabilities while coordinating with external vendors for system upgrades and installations.
- Proficient understanding of IT infrastructure, including networking (LAN, WAN), cloud technologies, and databases.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and maintaining warehouse automation IT systems, alongside experience with SQL, Python, or similar languages for data analysis.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and effective communication skills for collaboration across diverse teams.
- A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in IT positions focused on warehouse automation within high-volume distribution environments.
- Familiarity with pick-to-light systems, ASRS, and system integrations with WMS and ERP platforms.
- Relevant certifications in warehouse automation or industrial control systems are advantageous.
