Key Responsibilities
- Conduct various CT scans as prescribed by radiologists, including but not limited to head, chest, abdomen, and extremities.
- Operate advanced imaging technology such as CT scan computers, consoles, and Medrad injectors.
- Adhere strictly to established departmental protocols for imaging procedures.
- Administer both oral and intravenous contrast materials, as well as initiate and monitor IV lines.
- Develop and evaluate imaging films to ensure high-quality results.
- Maintain comprehensive records for each exam, including reactions to contrast materials.
- Ensure proper functioning of imaging equipment through regular startup, calibration, and shutdown procedures.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and take call according to the established schedule.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, colleagues, and medical personnel, while also assisting in the training of student radiographers.
- Optimize departmental productivity and prioritize patient safety in all aspects of work.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in medical imaging technology through ongoing education and training.
- Proficient in performing a range of CT scans utilizing advanced imaging equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Knowledge of departmental protocols and patient safety practices.
- Capability to administer contrast materials and manage IV lines efficiently.
- Minimum two years of formal training in radiologic technology.
- Active registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Valid license in Radiography issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
