Key Responsibilities
- Conduct penetration testing on applications and systems promptly and effectively.
- Execute remote or on-site assessments across diverse systems, networks, and applications to pinpoint potential security weaknesses.
- Analyze discovered vulnerabilities and formulate robust mitigation strategies.
- Provide comprehensive reports detailing findings, potential risks, and security recommendations.
- Advise stakeholders on best security practices and methods to mitigate risks.
- Work in tandem with IT teams to comprehend testing requirements and ensure thorough evaluations.
- Innovate and implement new penetration testing techniques, scripts, and tools to augment testing efficiency.
- Manage the Splunk infrastructure, ensuring optimal data collection across systems.
- Administer server management for deploying Splunk Universal Forwarder (UF) instances and configuring syslog servers for data collection from systems such as firewalls, IDS, and UPS devices.
- Implement Splunk Heavy Forwarders to integrate data from databases or third-party systems.
- Configure and utilize Splunk HTTP Event Collector to gather data from custom applications, including Java, .NET, and JavaScript.
- Use Splunk Stream to capture wire data, providing valuable insights into raw or statistical data.
- Oversee the re-architecture of syslog aggregation for Splunk, including modifications to syslog configurations for high availability and new storage configurations.
- Expand log source collection for existing data sources and incorporate new sources as necessary.
- Develop custom scripts to optimize data collection and integrate non-standard products into the Splunk ecosystem.
- Demonstrated experience in penetration testing and cybersecurity engineering.
- Comprehensive understanding of Splunk, including deployment, management, and customization of data collection infrastructure.
- Proficiency in crafting scripts and tools for penetration testing and data collection.
- Familiarity with security protocols, systems, and frameworks.
- Capacity to collaborate with cross-functional teams to grasp security requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess and mitigate risks.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of delivering clear reports and actionable recommendations.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in cybersecurity engineering and penetration testing.
- Experience in managing Splunk infrastructure and conducting threat assessments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
