Key Responsibilities
- Design, monitor, and troubleshoot extensive database systems to ensure optimal performance, security, and integrity.
- Write and implement code for the creation and management of production databases.
- Analyze and optimize database performance by examining record distribution and memory availability.
- Collaborate with programmers and analysts to implement enhancements to the database management system.
- Review and refine existing database programs for improved performance (performance tuning).
- Aid in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems, ensuring alignment with emerging application designs.
- Evaluate user requests for new data elements and incorporate them into the shared data environment.
- Coordinate data utilization to ensure consistency and minimize redundancy while reorganizing databases as necessary.
- Engage in data modeling and prototyping, developing logical and physical data models for relational databases.
- Maintain security protocols and perform recovery procedures as required.
- Develop efficient database search strategies and storage requirements.
- Update the data dictionary while establishing standards for its application.
- Monitor database performance and recommend enhancements for increased efficiency.
- Establish test environments for database applications, including procedures for data preservation, retrieval, and recovery in case of failures.
- Uphold database security and disaster recovery protocols, ensuring compliance with security standards.
- Assist in the installation and configuration of database software, as well as support upgrade initiatives.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience with Oracle Database 12c or higher.
- 8 years of experience working with Oracle RAC and Golden Gate.
- Proficiency in advanced SQL and shell scripting, with 8 years of relevant experience.
- Extensive experience supporting multi-terabyte databases with a focus on performance tuning (8 years).
- Familiarity with Microsoft O365 applications (4 years) and Microsoft Teams (2 years).
- A minimum of 8 years of experience in database administration within complex, high-transaction environments.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
