Key Responsibilities
- Review student medical histories and collaborate with parents and staff to prepare for a safe and healthy program.
- Set up the program infirmary and participate in necessary health and safety training.
- Be readily available to address student health needs around the clock during the program.
- Oversee the execution of health and safety plans while conducting health screenings and daily check-ins with students.
- Manage health emergencies and injuries, which includes first aid, arranging medical care, and conducting follow-ups.
- Oversee the camp infirmary, ensuring proper medication administration and meticulous record-keeping.
- Accompany students on field trips and work alongside the Assistant Health Director to guarantee sufficient staff coverage.
- Provide valuable insights to enhance future programs.
- Valid Maryland State certification or Compact Nursing License (physician, nurse practitioner, or registered nurse).
- Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Capacity to handle high-stress situations and maintain composure during emergencies.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Proficiency in Google Drive and various web-based communication tools.
- Flexibility to work during evenings and weekends as needed.
- Experience working with children in summer camps or educational environments is preferred.
- Access to a personal vehicle and a clean driving record is advantageous.
- Experience with students from diverse backgrounds is a plus.
